Problem Statement

Human-nature interactions are currently low and stagnant. There is a lack of interest in the outdoors because users have inadequate tools to learn, document, and appreciate the various facets of nature.

 

Vision Statement

Gaia is a new application designed to help people connect with and appreciate their natural surroundings. Instead of being a distraction, it offers users a learning experience that promotes nature awareness and the sharing of outdoor experiences. As a result, Gaia can help increase support for a number of environmental causes.

 

Context of Project

This project was completed as part of an upper-level undergraduate course in User Experience Design at the University of Washington during winter quarter 2015. The goal of this project was to apply the concepts of User Experience Design in order to develop an application that would help a specific set of users.
